Caribbean Crisp
Any time you see a packaged mix that lets you add apples or pears to it, try papaya. It's a great way to make a dessert that will get everyone talking. This recipe uses an apple crisp mix that's fast and easy to make.
Ingredients
- Non-fat cooking spray
- 1 Caribbean Red® papaya, just ripe
- 1 lime
- 1 apple crisp mix (I used Calhoun Bend Mill)
- 4 tbs butter
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375° F. Spray an 8" square baking dish with cooking spray.
-
Peel a Caribbean Red papaya. Discard the seeds and chop half into small cubes. Reserve the remaining half for another dish.
-
Scoop the papaya chunks into the baking dish. Squirt the juice of one lime over the papaya.
-
Melt the butter and add it to the crumb mix. Scoop on top of the papaya.
-
Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
-
Serve warm.
