Mediterranean Meze Lunch
In the Eastern Mediterranean, lunch is often a meze plate, a collection of small bites. Now mamey is not a Mediterranean fruit, but it certainly adds a sweet bite to this easily prepared lunch, perfect for the lunch box.
- Mamey sapote - 1/2
- Hummus - 1/4 cup
- Feta cheese - 1/8 cup
- Black olives, pitted - 1/8 cup
- Figs, fresh - 2
- Whole wheat pitas, each cut into 4 triangles - 2
- Pretzel crackers - 10
- Cut the mamey in half. Discard the seed. Scoop out half the insides.
- Place all ingredients on a serving platter and enjoy.
