Tropical kabobs
Bring the party to the lunchroom with cheddar or Swiss cubes skewered with your favorite tropical fruit - starfruit, Caribbean Red® papaya and red guava. It's easy to do, and there's no need to make a centerpiece out of it.
Ingredients
- 1 cup or approximately 1/4 of a Caribbean Red papaya
- 1 lime
- 2 Florida red guavas
- 1 Florida starfruit
- 1/4 Groovy Coconut
- 2 oz. cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 8 bamboo skewers
Instructions
-
Peel the Caribbean Red papaya, scoop out the seeds and cut 1/4 of the flesh into cubes. Reserve the remaining papaya for another dish.
-
If desired, peel the red guava. Slice in half vertically, and then cut each half into 3 wedges.
-
Trim the edges of the starfruit. Slice into 1/2" star shapes. Poke out any seeds, if desired.
-
Extract the white coconut from its shell. Cut into 1" wide slices. Then cut slices 3" long.
-
Cut the cheese into 1" cubes.
-
Using skewers, add one cube of cheese and then one piece of fruit to the skewer. Top each skewer with a wedge of lime.
