Caribbean Croissant Squared
Who doesn't loves croissants? Add some papaya and change the shape and you've got a breakfast treat or an easy dessert. It's croissants squared.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Caribbean Red® papaya, chopped (about 1/4 a fruit)
- non-fat cooking spray
- 1 pkg. refrigerated croissant dough
Instructions
-
If you can chop up the Caribbean Red papaya and refrigerate overnight, the papaya will have yummy juices to add to the croisant.
-
Pre-heat oven as directed on the croissant package.
-
Spray a rimmed cookie sheet with cooking spray.
-
Roll out the croissant dough. Don't break into triangles, just break into squares. Pull the squares into large squares. Place squares on the cookie sheet. With your thumb, press down the "perforated" line that you would use to break into triangles.
-
Spoon the papaya pieces onto the middle of each square. Fold the corners of the croissant square up the the middle of the square.
-
Bake as directed on the package.
-
Remove from oven, serve as individual squares or break apart into 2 rectangles following the perforation meant for the triangles. The perforation will easily allow you to do this with the help of a knife.
-
Serve warm.
