Mamey Starfruit Smoothie
Mamey Sapote is a rich creamy fruit that eats like a smoothie naturally. So any smoothie made with it is going to be top notch. With starfruit adding a spark and buttermilk adding some depth, this is a smoothie that you'll want to savor. And because there's no "ingredient" that will melt, you can sit back and enjoy.
- 1 Florida starfruit
- 1 Mamey sapote (it's ripe when it's wrinkly and softer than an avocado ready for guacamole)
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tbs sugar (optional, taste before adding)
Slice the starfruit into thirds. Poke out any seeds with a knife. Add to a blender.
Slice the mamey sapote in half, discard the seed and scoop the insides out into the blender.
Add buttermilk and the juice of one lime. Blend until smooth.
Drink immediately or refrigerate an hour to chill.
Serve with a big straw. Add a spoon, you may be tempted to eat by the spoonful.
