Balsamic starfruit dressing
Soak starfruit in balsamic vinegar? You'll find the two, plus a handful of kumquats, all play nicely together and make a perfect dressing for a salad.

With a vegetable peeler, trim the points of the starfruit. Slice into thin slices, discarding the seeds.

Slice the kumquats in half.

In a medium bowl, combine the sugar and balsamic vinegar.

Add the starfruit slices and kumquat halves. Gently toss. Cover with plastic and let sit for about an hour.

To serve, drizzle the balsamic vinegar liquid over a salad. Almost any salad will do quite nicely. Top with starfruit and kumquat slices.
