A tried and true drink gets a tropical update with dragonfruit. It's a refreshing break from work or play.
- 1 dragonfruit
- 1 lime
- 1/4 cup sweet sour drink mix
- 1 tbs honey
- 2 tbs sugar (or salt for the tequila option) for the rim of the glass
- Optional: 1 oz tequila
Pour the sugar or salt on a saucer that will fit the serving glasses. Move the saucer around so the sugar/salt gets evenly distributed near the rim of the saucer. Moisten the rims of the glasses. Roll the glasses around in the sugar/salt to get the sugar/salt on the rims.
Cut the dragonfruit in half. With a large spoon, scoop out the insides. Discard the skin.
Add the dragonfruit to a blender, with the juice of one lime, sweet sour drink mix, and 2 tbs honey. Add tequila, if desired. Blend until relatively smooth.
Pour into a shaker with ice cubes. Shake for 10 seconds. Pour into glass rimmed with sugar/salt. Serve immediately.
